Northline Black Car
Privacy policy
What a chauffeur booking involves collecting — a name, a phone number, a home address, a flight number and, over time, a pattern of where you go — and what happens to it.
Effective date: privacy_effective_date.
1. Who is responsible
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Controller | Northline Transportation, Inc. d/b/a Northline Black Car |
| Privacy contact | info@northlineblackcar.com |
| Response time for requests | privacy_rights_response_time |
2. What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Booking details | Name, mobile, email, pickup and destination addresses, date and time, passenger count | To perform the trip. Without it there is no booking. |
| Travel details | Airline, flight number, tail number, terminal, arrival status | Flight tracking, so the pickup moves with the flight |
| Preferences | Vehicle class, meeting preference, child seat, quiet car, accessibility needs | To send the right vehicle and brief the chauffeur |
| Payment data | Card details, entered on payment_processor rather than held by us | To charge for the trip |
| Corporate data | Cost code, matter number, department, authorized booker | Invoicing and cost allocation on an account |
| Trip records | Completed trips, times, waiting time, charges | Billing, disputes, tax and TLC record-keeping |
| Communications | Calls, texts and emails with dispatch | Service delivery and complaint handling. Call recording: call_recording_policy |
| Vehicle data | vehicle_telematics_policy | Where dashcam or GPS telematics are in use, this is where it will be described |
| Website data | analytics_provider · cookies cookie_policy | Understanding which pages answer the question people arrived with |
3. Where it comes from
| Source | Detail |
|---|---|
| You | Directly, when booking by web, phone or text |
| Someone booking for you | An assistant, a colleague, a family member, a hotel concierge. We may hold your details without having heard from you. |
| Your employer | On a corporate account: traveler profiles and cost codes |
| Flight data providers | Public and commercial flight status data matched to the flight number you gave us: flight_tracking_provider |
| Booking widget | Limo Anywhere, hosted on their own domain |
If you were booked by someone else, you can ask us what we hold about you in the same way as anyone else — info@northlineblackcar.com — and you do not need their permission to do so.
4. Who it is shared with
| Recipient | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The chauffeur on your trip | Name, mobile, addresses, flight, preferences | To perform the trip. Nothing else. |
| Affiliate operators | The same trip data, where a trip is performed by an affiliate | affiliate_sharing_basis |
| Payment processor | Card and transaction data | payment_processor |
| Booking platform | Booking data entered at checkout | Limo Anywhere |
| Dispatch software | Trip and customer records | dispatch_software_provider |
| Your employer | Trip detail on the account invoice — date, route, traveler, cost code | Corporate accounts. If your employer pays, your employer sees where you went. |
| Regulators and law enforcement | Trip records where legally required | TLC record-keeping obligations, lawful requests, tax |
| Advertisers or data brokers | Nothing. | Trip data is not sold and not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. |
5. How long it is kept
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Trip and billing records | data_retention_trips — partly set by tax and TLC record-keeping obligations rather than by us |
| Traveler profile and preferences | data_retention_profile |
| Card details | Not held by us. Held by payment_processor under their terms. |
| Texts, emails and call notes | data_retention_comms |
| Call recordings | call_recording_retention |
| Website analytics | data_retention_analytics |
| Marketing consent records | data_retention_marketing |
6. Your rights
| Right | How |
|---|---|
| Ask what we hold | info@northlineblackcar.com · answered within privacy_rights_response_time |
| Correct it | Same route. Address corrections are worth making — they affect where a car goes. |
| Delete it | Same route, subject to records we are legally required to retain |
| Object to marketing | Unsubscribe in any message, or info@northlineblackcar.com. Service messages about a booked trip are not marketing and continue. |
| Stop SMS | Reply STOP. Note this also stops arrival notifications: sms_consent_policy |
| Opt out of sale or sharing | Not applicable — we do not sell trip data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising |
| Complain | info@northlineblackcar.com, and to the New York State Attorney General’s office independently of us |
7. Security
| Measure | Position |
|---|---|
| Card data | Not stored by us. Processed by payment_processor. |
| Access control | data_access_control — a chauffeur sees their own assigned trips, not the customer database |
| Transport security | The site and the booking flow are served over HTTPS |
| Breach notification | breach_notification_policy — New York's SHIELD Act imposes notification duties on any business holding New York residents' private information |
| Vendors | vendor_dpa_position |
8. Cookies and this website
cookie_policy. Analytics: analytics_provider. Advertising or remarketing pixels: ad_pixel_policy. The booking widget sets its own cookies under Limo Anywhere’s policy, which is outside this one — a gap flagged on the booking page and in the accessibility statement.
9. Children
This service is booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children, though a booking may name a child traveling. A child’s name and seat requirement is held as part of the trip record and retained on the same basis as the rest of it.
10. Changes
Changes are published here with a new effective date. Version privacy_version. Material changes affecting how existing data is used will be notified rather than quietly posted.
Common questions
Does my employer see where I went?
On a corporate account, yes — the invoice carries trip-level detail including route, date and cost code, because that is what the account is for. If a trip is personal, book it personally. This is worth knowing before you book, not after.
Do you sell my data?
No. Trip data is not sold and not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where a home address, a travel schedule and a hospital destination sit in the same record, selling it would be indefensible regardless of what a policy permitted.
Are calls to dispatch recorded?
call_recording_policy, retained call_recording_retention. Where recording is in use you will be told at the start of the call rather than in a policy page you did not read.
Does the chauffeur keep my address?
data_access_control. A chauffeur is shown the trips assigned to them and does not have access to the customer database or to your booking history.
What about the third-party checkout?
Data entered at checkout goes to Limo Anywhere, on their own domain and under their privacy policy as well as this one. Having the most sensitive step of the booking governed by someone else's policy is a known issue, not an arrangement we are content with — see book.
